The Effect of Uremia Upon Glucose Metabolism

Abstract
Various factors of carbohydrate and insulin metabolism have been studied in 19 patients with chronic renal failure before and after treatment with the artificial kidney. There is evidence in support of the conclusion that several separate factors are important in the carbohydrate intolerance of uremia.
