Prehospital Delays in Patients Presenting With Myocardial Infarction

We read with interest the recent article by Foraker et al,1 which looked at the prehospital delays in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in relation to their health insurance and socioeconomic disparities. We would like to know if there were any particular reasons for the delays and if they occurred during a specific period of the day. As reported by Goldberg et al,2 delays were longer if patients had an AMI during certain periods of the day or during the weekend.2 Furthermore, in the study by Foraker et al,1 did patients with prior AMI arrive at the emergency department earlier?
