Error in Letter in: Acute Pharyngitis: No Reliability of Rapid Streptococcal Tests and Clinical Findings

Arch Intern Med. 2007;167(3):289.

Error in Letter. In the letter by Matthys and De Meyere titled "Acute Pharyngitis: No Reliability of Rapid Streptococcal Tests and Clinical Findings," published in the November 13 issue of the ARCHIVES (2006;166:2285), an error occurred in the first sentence of the third paragraph (the second reason given in the letter). The sentence should have read as follows: "There is no international consensus on the use of the rapid streptococcal test (rapid antigen test): it is recommended in the American guidelines and in 2 European guidelines (France and Finland)."
