With facts accumulating at an exponential rate in medicine, no physician can keep at his fingertips all the information he must have at his fingertips. At least he can't keep it in his head. Therefore, such repositories of data as the "Physician's Handbook" are of great assistance to the physician in practice and to the teacher as well. In the scope of five hundred pages or so, between a skimpy table of contents and a fair index, is packed a world of material essential for the care of patients and the day-by-day life of diagnosis and therapy of modern practice. Useful new procedures are included, as well as those which have withstood the test of time.
