"The Year Book of Pathology and Clinical Pathology," edited by William B. Wartman, continues to be one of the outstanding books in this series because he manages to add so much personal and individual flavor to what might seem offhand a rather dry and dreary topic for an internist. This particular book is notable for his interesting description of a quinquennial brain-dusting tour of England and the Continent, his extracts from the Widdicombe file, which adorns the pages of The Lancet from time to time, a dash of Gilbert and Sullivan, and other items, which make the book a pleasure to read through. This, of course, is a bonus in addition to the wide variety of articles abstracted and the reproductions of many effective photographs and illustrations.
