Dr. Arthur L. Bloomfield Retires from Editorial Board

With considerable regret the ARCHIVES announces the retirement of the senior member, Dr. Arthur L. Bloomfield, from the Editorial Board. It is with pleasure, however, that we announce that he has agreed to stay on as special editor of the "Evolution of Modern Medicine" series. Doctor Bloomfield has been a member of the Editorial Board continuously for thirty-eight years and throughout this long period has had an important role in the shaping of the policies of this journal.

He has always insisted upon straightforward, scholarly reports. Although keenly critical in separating the wheat from the chaff, he has done so with fairness and charity.
