Anyone who can promote 15s. (roughly $2.10) and likes to read charming medical essays should get a copy of this book while it is still in print. Though I had read some of the items in this collection when they appeared in the Practitioner, I was stimulated to obtain a copy by a comment Dr. Edmund E. Simpson sent me about my review of Barber's "The Rewards of Medicine." He pointed out that I had managed to misspell both of Sir Andrew Macphail's names in the review and that I might like to know something more of Hugh Barber's work. (In writing reviews, I rarely take time to make more than two draft copies, the final being typed from the original, which may have been revised several times.
