This familiar volume has been used by many practitioners for a number of years and has remained essentially unchanged until this year. Like the local newspaper it has the advantage of familiarity in format and style. Essentially it represents a collection of brief abstracts of articles published during the past year in which drug therapy was utilized in the practice of medicine. These articles have been grouped in rough categories, such as allergic disorders, cardiovascular diseases, hematologic disorders, etc. There can be no doubt that it has served as a useful reference to the physician or student who wishes to find an occasional article about a given topic. It also has provided some information which helps to keep the practitioner aware of new therapeutic developments. However, it has certain disadvantages.
