This book is written by a Science Instructor for students of nursing, medical technology, and pharmacy, and some of the more clinical chapters have been read during its preparation by physicians. The author says he "... has used every force at his command to keep the reader in balance." He has consulted "the latest research papers and standard works" and has spent sufficient time in preparation of the written and illustrative material so that it is exceedingly clear. A great deal of the book is explanatory, and the author's preface indicates that "Perhaps, too, it may serve as a refresher for the student and practitioner of medicine." The author has the fresh approach of a professional science writer who surveys a new field and then explains. He has excellent insight and writes clearly.
