Those already familiar with the Year Book series will not need this review to appreciate its value or its interest. Those still unacquainted with the series would do well if they explored it.

The first portion of the current volume covers selected papers in general and anatomic pathology; the reviews are grouped under sixteen headings which encompass the usual list of organ systems. Several of the headings are further subdivided into broad areas of specific tissue type or organ function. One hundred fifty or more papers are critically reviewed and many more are mentioned in parenthetic editorial comment. The second part of the book is devoted to clinical chemistry, to hematology, and to clinical microbiology. The manner of coverage is here somewhat topical, but the topics covered are those which are under intensive investigation.
