The Symposium dealt with problems in human nutrition but contained relatively little material that will be considered new by physicians. The highlights of the Proceedings to this reviewer are as follows: specific examples of instances in which cultural, social, or religious factors seriously influence the utilization of available foodstuffs are given by J. M. Hundley; an excellent and concise review of nutrition of the adolescent is presented by D. P. Cuthbertson, and certain specific nutritional considerations with respect to the aged are mentioned by W. H. Griffith.

It will be of some interest in view of much recent discussion about the "population explosion" to realize that the panel of experts discussing Nutrition Beyond the Horizon—The Next One Hundred Years, are optimistic about the future.
