ANNOUNCEMENTS
Fundamental Cancer Research Symposium.—
"Conceptual Advances in Immunology and Oncology" will be the subject of the Sixteenth Annual Symposium on Fundamental Cancer Research, to be held March 1, 2, and 3, 1962, at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute, announced Dr. Felix L. Haas, chairman of the symposium committee.
The 3-day program will be divided into morning sessions from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon and afternoon sessions from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Titles of the sessions are: "Theories of Antibody Production," "Metabolic Control of Antibody Synthesis," "Genetic Basis of Immune Response," "The Nature of the Antigen-Antibody Reaction," "Transplantation and Immunological Tolerance," and "Cancer Specific Antigens."
An annual event at the symposium is the presentation of the Bertner Foundation Award. The Award was established in 1950 to honor the late Dr. E. W. Bertner, first acting director of M. D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor
