This excellent little book presents Dr. Brewer's experience in reviewing 500 renal biopsies carried out at the University of Birmingham, England. The patients described were under the care of Professor J. R. Squire, Dr. J. Hardwicke, Dr. J. F. Soothill, and Dr. J. D. Blainey. All of these men are recognized for their contributions to the understanding and management of renal disease. Dr. Brewer is Reader in Pathology, University of Birmingham, and Honorary Consultant Pathologist, United Birmingham Hospitals and Birmingham Hospital Board.

Astute and careful consideration of the biopsy material is well reflected in the various sections of this book.
