The final volume completing the new Bockus has been out for some months and I have delayed producing a review until I have had a chance to use the book. This volume, the largest of the three, has been completely rewritten and reorganized from the first edition of the book, reflecting both new information and a shift in the interest of readers in gastroenterology.

The first 87 pages present gastrointestinal parasitology (except amebae) with a large chapter on the schistosomes. The next 500 pages present the liver and its diseases. The gallbladder and bile ducts and pancreas each have 300 pages devoted to them. Psychiatric and functional aspects of gastrointestinal disease are treated in detail. Separate short chapters review the gastrointestinal tract and digestive diseases from the points of view of allergy, autoimmunity, collagen diseases, vascular disease, endocrinology, and dermatology.
