The literature on experimental hepatitis, as on many other topics has become cripplingly voluminous. Accordingly this monograph by an acknowledged expert in the field will be useful and appreciated. The author, who has had wide experience with human hepatitis and has conducted extensive studies on murine hepatitis, has provided a complete yet concise summary of viral hepatitis in experimental animals.

The book consists of three sections. A long first portion deals with the known forms of hepatitis in mammals. A short second section describes the forms of hepatitis observed in ducks and turkeys, and the third part consists of a color atlas depicting gross and microscopic tissue changes.

The description of hepatitis in mammals is introduced by a chapter devoted to analogies between the disease in humans and in various experimental animals.
