This is a translation of the third edition of this German book. Its popularity is attested by the fact that it has had a new edition almost every year. The authors (electrocardiographers at the University Hospital in Giessen, Germany) have gone over the translation and inserted changes planned for the forthcoming fourth edition. After a brief introduction concerning each wave of the electrocardiogram, each type of abnormality is analyzed in tabular form. There are detailed references to other sections of the text, to tables of normal values, to schematic drawings, and to the electrocardiographic atlas which is bound in a separate folder and can be conveniently held in open readiness while reading the text.
Each table contains a description of the abnormality, disturbance to be considered, main guides for recognition of the deviation, further guides, the clinical conditions in which the deviation in question is observed, and further remarks
