Mr Piscatella has presented a book that is well written and very comprehensive regarding many aspects of cardiac risk factors and the modification of these factors. The first section of the book deals with life-styles and emphasizes the importance of creating a life-style that is healthy for children to follow to reduce their susceptibility to cardiovascular disease.

Each risk factor is discussed with recommendations made for modification. The author has conveyed an understanding of some of the more complex issues regarding coronary disease, as well as displaying workable solutions to alteration of behavior patterns that influence cardiac wellbeing.

A large section deals with food exchange, calorie counting, and integration of exercise to facilitate weight control. This section is followed by a very useful collection of recipes, nutritional analysis, and preparation of food that is very valuable and will aid the patient with cardiac disease in preparing wholesome meals that are . . .
