Golden's description of his own experience relative to herpes simplex labialis followed by recurrent Stevens-Johnson syndrome appears consistent with the description of our patient,1 so is the response to prednisone. His suggestion that the oral lesions appearing after the lip lesions were part of the Stevens-Johnson syndrome is very reasonable. The patient we described1 is now in remission, acyclovir has been discontinued and, hopefully, the remission will continue as long as Golden's.
