In the article titled "Prevention of Respiratory Infections in Adults: Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccines," published in the November 28, 1994, issue of the ARCHIVES (1994;154:2545-2557), on page 2547 in the first paragraph of the third column, the first sentence should have read as follows: "Nevertheless, a reasonable assessment of the overall effectiveness of influenza vaccine is that it reduces serious complications of influenza in high-risk patients by one half." In addition, in Table 1 (page 2546), there are three distinct categories of indications for influenza and pneumococcal vaccines: all persons aged 65 years and older, patients with various chronic illnesses, and patients with immunosuppression due to various causes. . . .
