This book consists of reports of lectures given at Heidelberg in August, 1932, which correspond to what in America would be called a postgraduate course, the purpose of which is to discuss "the exact use of specific therapeutic agents on the basis of their pharmacologic action." Mercury, digitalis, thyroxine, arsphenamine, the vitamins and antianemic liver preparations receive consideration by such authorities as Straub, Sachs, György, Gänzlen and others.
