There has long been a demand for a practical clinical hematologic text in English. This book fills a definite need and contains sufficiently complete discussions of the various aspects of hematology to be of value to the general practitioner. It was not intended to be, and does not serve as, an encyclopedia of hematology.

The book is conveniently divided into three parts. The first part is devoted to the various components of the blood and methods of studying them; the second, to diagnosis of diseases primarily of the blood, and the third, to diseases not primarily of the blood. The laboratory findings in the various diseases are briefly and clearly stated, and the procedures that are most valuable in the differential diagnosis are discussed.
