This book gives a rapid and necessarily incomplete summary of physiologic and clinical researches on the stomach and duodenum, including some of the author's own work. The book should prove to be stimulating to the American reader, who will find no mention of much that has excited attention in this country, but instead will find occasional things which have escaped his notice in the European literature.
