This is a book to delight the heart of those who are trying to learn medicine or who are struggling with the medical curriculum, for it lays out in a sensible manner a sensible course in orthopedic surgery.

In 1934 the Committee on Undergraduate Instruction in Orthopaedic Surgery of the American Orthopaedic Association called attention to the fact that in several of the leading medical schools approximately twenty-four class periods each of an hour's duration are profitably employed for undergraduate instruction in this special subject. The authors of this handbook have assembled a twenty-four chapter book. All of the chapters are of approximately the same length.
