This is a helpful book for the patient, nurse or doctor who seeks up-to-date information on the treatment of diabetes with diet and insulin. The second edition carries an introduction by Frederick M. Allen, who comments on the soundness of the author's method and congratulates him on avoiding fads and reckless extremes of treatment. The dietary part of the book is especially valuable, because of the attention paid to taste and food habits of various nationalities: Italian, Armenian and Jewish.
