It is the author's thesis that if one can establish certain characteristics of a tubercle in relation to its age, then one can deduce from the character of the tubercle the age of the infection, with the various clinical and epidemiologic implications. Whether or not this project is actually workable the reader must decide for himself, but in any event the book contains a mass of interesting factual data on the morphologic aspects of tubercles.
