In this handsomely printed and profusely illustrated monograph the writer has assembled a great deal of material pertaining to the liver of special interest to the surgeon. Liver function tests from the standpoint of preparation for operation, vitamin K, hepatic function in thyroid disease and, above all, the dreaded and mysterious "liver death" occurring after operation are discussed in detail.
