This excellent book calls to mind that there are few satisfactory treatises on communicable diseases in English. The authors' experience with purely clinical problems as well as with those concerning public health and isolation hospitals results in a happy combination for the student of the subject. The discussions are well written and include recent advances in knowledge; the illustrations (many of them in color) are excellent, and the chapters on the technic of dealing with communicable disease are especially valuable. . . .
