This is a manual of procedure for ward and bedside practice. Several pages are devoted to the plan, scope, objectives, principles, art and technic of case taking, and these are followed by several chapters of detailed directions for history taking and for physical examination. More than half of the volume is composed of chapters on semiology of diseases and systems. Apparently the purpose of these chapters is to familiarize the student with terminology and to point out the common symptoms and findings of some diseases.
