In THE ARCHIVES (53:1237 [June] 1939) was reviewed the first edition of this book, the reviewer commending the author on his complete and understanding presentation of such an extensive subject. The second edition is even more praiseworthy and, indeed, sets an unusual example in that it is shorter, cheaper and more extensively illustrated than was its predecessor. Most second editions do not follow such a pattern.

The text continues to present a thorough consideration of gastrointestinal disease which will interest both radiologist and clinician. The illustrations are admirable. The pertinent literature is extensively reviewed, and there is a short up-to-date bibliography at the end of each chapter. The present reviewer is glad to reaffirm in THE ARCHIVES that the book is an invaluable reference work and to predict for it continued success. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
