With the term "neurobartonellosis" the author classifies the neuropsychic syndromes of Carrion's disease which in their various forms constitute the integral part of its clinical picture. This interesting and important disease is ably and logically discussed with the help of numerous case studies compiled from the literature and from the author's experience and represents many years of observations.
A complete historical outline constitutes the initial chapter of the monograph. In sequence the scientific milestones which have led to the present day status of knowledge on the subject of Carrion's disease are reviewed. In the following chapter the author presents a thorough discussion on the pathologic anatomy of the disease. The characteristic pathologic lesions are adequately described, and an excellent series of photomicrographs is used to illustrate the micropathologic features.
