This book contains a great deal of useful information. It is in no sense a systematic or comprehensive textbook of endocrinology. The major portion consists of brief chapters dealing with certain problems which confront the physician, especially in female endocrinology, for example the chapters with the following headings: "The Mechanism of Uterine Bleeding," "Dysmenorrhoea," "Hormonal Therapy of Fibromyomas of the Uterus," "Acne in Adolescence," and "Endocrine Headaches." There are chapters on "Hormonology," in which the availability and use of specific preparations are dealt with. There are numerous excellent illustrations.
