Dr. Moore was one of the first in this country to develop a clinic in which syphilis was dealt with as a branch of general medicine and to correlate his work with those ancillary laboratories for experimental study which are so effective in promoting sound practice in their vicinity. As his long and extensive clinical experience developed, it was inevitable that a book should appear from his pen and "Modern Treatment of Syphilis," previously reviewed in these columns, has been everywhere recognized as a landmark in the literature of the disease. During the war, through the Subcommittee on Venereal Disease of the National Research Council, Moore was one of the leaders in correlating civilian and military efforts to control and treat syphilis, and finally, as chairman of the Penicillin Study Panel, he has woven together the threads of knowledge which converge from clinics over the country in which the new . . .
