The popularity of this book among members of the medical profession is attested by the fact that it is now in its tenth edition. Because of the ever increasing number of laboratory procedures employed in clinical medicine, the book is increasing in size and scope. The number of persons, expert in their respective fields, who contribute to the present edition has increased. Many new editions and revisions have been made to include the more recent developments in laboratory technics. These are too numerous to mention. The general style of the preceding edition is retained, i. e., certain pertinent clinical data are presented in an effort to correlate the laboratory technics with the practical clinical problems. The sections on bacteriology and parasitology are better developed than those chapters on hematology.
