In this encyclopedic volume Dr. Rehfuss and his associates have brought together a vast amount of useful information. General considerations are followed by sections on clinical pharmacology and treatment according to major symptoms, such as cough, headache and diarrhea, after which treatment of special conditions is dealt with. Everything is taken up in abstract form with the directions given in A, B, C style. Under hiccup, for example, one finds listed some seventy-five therapeutic items. While one may not agree with all that is included between these covers, the student will rarely fail to find at least some therapeutic suggestion when he is at a loss. The volume is "different" and certainly is worth while having on one's shelf for reference.
