This series of lectures delivered at the University of Minnesota by Westermark summarizes his methods for study of the heart and lungs. The use of controlled intrapulmonary respiratory pressure, positive and negative, for the study of pulmonary lesions is particularly interesting. The early diagnosis of bronchogenic carcinoma, the identification of localized as well as generalized emphysema and the discussion of pulmonary embolism and infarction and of roentgen cinematography to observe hemodynamics are included and should prove to be of value to roentgenologists, phthisiologists and cardiologists. The text is accompanied by many illustrations, but unfortunately the accompanying legends are relatively incomplete and poorly written.
