The first edition of "Human Pathology" by Howard T. Karsner was published in 1926. Twenty-three years later the seventh edition has come to hand. The first edition contained 980 single column pages and 463 illustrations, of which 20 were in color; the seventh edition contains 927 double column pages with 584 illustrations, including 22 in color. Over the years this book has assumed a more and more important place among textbooks of pathology, until gradually it has achieved preeminence. Students, professional pathologists, practicing physicians and surgeons have gone to it for accurate information about the known facts of the broad field of pathology and have found the information they wanted or a reference which filled their need.
