Report of Two Cases, with Comment on the Dynamics of Development of the Coronary Circulation

ANOMALIES of development of the coronary arteries are not uncommon, and defects similar to the two described herein have been reported previously.¹ The presentation of these cases together was stimulated by the contrasting effects of the abnormal coronary arteries on the myocardium in the two cases.

REPORT OF CASES

CASE 1.

—A white male infant, 5 months of age, was irritable and cried considerably during one morning; his temperature was 100.4 F. Early in the afternoon, he became stuporous, and a physician was called, but the baby was dead when the physician arrived.

The infant had been seen by the doctor four days before his death, and no abnormalities were noted during a complete examination at that time.
