A book embodying the experience of any one like Dr. Kolmer, who has for years developed laboratory diagnosis, cannot fail to be useful. The present volume quickly ran through the first edition and now appears in a recent revision, but in essentially the same format. All the laboratory tests in common use are described and appraised; there are many good illustrations and useful tables. The one feature which does not appeal to the reviewer is the discussion of a test and the description of technic in two widely separated parts of the book. This leads to some repetition. Some of the brief descriptions of disease which precede discussion of the tests also serve no very useful purpose, as one assumes that the reader is already familiar with the elements of the situation he is investigating. . . .
