The second edition of this book contains the newer concepts of the problem. It is written in the usual style of textbooks on the subject. Unfortunately, it is verbose and many theories are repeated frequently. The first chapters are concerned with general problems in psychiatry, e. g., definitions, points of view, discussions of clinical states, methods of examination of the patient, plans for training in psychosomatic medicine and related subjects. The greater portion of the book is devoted to expressions in the organic systems of psychic disturbances. The volume should prove of value to those in the field as well as to students.
