The reprinting of this classic is pleasing and indicates continued or increasing interest in this excellent book. It should be read by all medical students and young men planning a research career in medicine. Claude Bernard's role in physiology and experimental medicine can never be forgotten. To have an opportunity to profit from the wisdom of such a great man is certainly a privilege.
