This is a report of a symposium of the Section on Microbiology of the New York Academy of Medicine. The contributors are outstanding ones in the field of the study of chemotherapeutic agents. Fourteen subjects are discussed, each representing addresses presented on March 25 and 26, 1948. Among the subjects discussed are the relation of blood concentration to the therapeutic effects of the chemotherapeutic agents, renal excretion of the agents, distribution and protein binding of the chemicals, chemoprophylaxis, antimalarial drugs, chemotherapy in viral infections and chemotherapeutic agents in cancer.
