As its title indicates this monograph is concerned with the pathological physiology of uremia in chronic Bright's disease, and this is discussed under the headings of glomerular filtration rate and tubular functions. Included are such topics as nature and volume of filtrate, changes in the composition of urine and plasma during uremia, tubular dysfunction and glomerulotubular imbalance during uremia and derangements of plasma electrolytes and nonelectrolytes. The second half of the monograph discusses the clinical manifestations of uremia and attempts to correlate them with the disturbance in renal physiology. This is a concise and accurate monograph.
