The Committee on Growth of the National Research Council, acting in an advisory capacity, makes recommendations to the American Cancer Society concerning the administration of the grants-in-aid and fellowship portions of the Society's research program. This book, which is the fifth annual report, tells the fascinating story of how the Committee on Growth goes about its business of selecting fellows for training in cancer research and research projects for support by the American Cancer Society.
