The author states that this book is designed primarily for students who are to become practitioners. The physician who is seriously interested in becoming acquainted with the principles of statistical analysis as applied to medicine will appreciate the style of writing and the manner in which the author has presented the subject. In particular, the reader can obtain an appreciation of the problems in research, sampling, errors, tests of significance, and so forth, without having to wade through masses of formulae and numerical computation. The material has been organized under eight chapter headings; under each chapter heading within the table of contents is given an outline of the material presented in the chapter.
