A new text on physical diagnosis meets a difficult challenge. This volume is based on the principle of correlation of physical signs with physiologic and pathologic changes in disease, and does not devote much space to describing clinical disease entities. The first impression is one of undue brevity, but this is relieved by numerous excellent illustrations. Outstanding features of this book are the chapters on the examination of the musculoskeletal system, on acoustic principles, and on examination of the chest, lungs, and circulatory system.
