The TO strain of mouse encephalomyelitis virus is the originalstrain of an agent isolated by Theiler from a spontaneous diseasein mice. The agent has been used for much laboratory investigationrelated to poliomyelitis since there are many similarities betweenthe Theiler virus and the agent of poliomyelitis.
