ANNOUNCEMENTS
Gamma Globulin for Poliomyelitis.
—Plans for the distribution of gamma globulin for use against poliomyelitis during the coming season have been sent to all State and Territorial Health Officers by the Public Health Service, Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.
The following procedures governing the distribution plans were transmitted to the Public Health Service by the Office of Defense Mobilization:
- Forty-five percent of the supply of gamma globulin available for the prophylaxis of poliomyelitis will be set aside for the States and Territories in accordance with each State's proportionate share of the national aggregate number of reported poliomyelitis cases during the five-year period 1949-1953. Issuances to a State or Territory will be made upon request by the State or Territorial Health Officer.
