This book is the fourth to report the proceedings of the Conference on Connective Tissues. The discussions are lengthy and, though rambling, are punctuated by careful thought, experienced judgment, and reports of original work. The conference was divided into four general topics: "General Areas of Agreement," "Isolation and Characterization of Mammalian Striated Myofibrils," "The Effect of Vitamin A on Organ Cultures of Skeletal and Other Tissue," and "An Outline of Problems to be Solved in the Study of Connective Tissues."
