This diet manual is a revision of the original edition and is a valuable contribution to nutrition and offers a host of dietary recommendations. It has an outstanding value in that the various diets are simple to understand, are scientifically accurate, and are of great value to the general practitioner and specialist in nutrition alike. In addition to the standard dietary program utilized at the Mayo Clinic, this edition incorporates many new dietary changes such as new diets for the "dumping syndrome," intestinal stomae, sprue, diabetes, hyperlipoidemia, obesity, anorexia nervosa, and for infants. In general, the many new minor changes in the text demonstrate improvement in this diet manual. The height-weight tables have been revised.
