Parasitic diseases:

The author presents a helpful and significant statement to the effect that freezing of meat destroys the encysted forms of Filaria, Taenia, and hydatid disease. The article on flukes gives a good survey of the clinical forms. There is very little reference to the incidence of parasitic disease outside the U. S. The toxicity of centipede stings may be correctly stated for those in the U. S., but it is an understatement for those in Asia and Africa. Possibly the opposite is true for the assessment of scorpion bites.
